Mazars buys Domínio and aims at the market in the state of Rio de Janeiro, yet outside the capital of Rio de Janeiro

"Rio de Janeiro is one of the main sources of investment of the company within our expansion plan", says the partner and head of Rio de Janeiro office of Mazars, Uipiquer Gomes dos Santos. With the expansion of the governance’s requirements of Petrobras for exploration of the pre -salt layer, companies will contract audit services, which will boost the company, evaluates the executive. "The arrival of the big sporting events, like the World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Games 2016, is one of the reasons that contains plane targeting financial contributions by the company in the state", he said. "The market for services will have a major heating up in Rio de Janeiro and Mazars will be ready for seize the opportunities that will arise", says the executive. The recent acquisition of Domínio Assessores, in December, is an example that the strategies are already being put into practice. With the deal, the company becomes one of the largest outsourcing companies in the country, with more than R$ 90 million of annual revenue, 600 clients, and about 850 employees. According to the executive, the union of the companies represents the increase of the opportunities to the audit, consulting and financial services, which will be strengthened. "This acquisition expands the activities in oil and gas, an area in which Mazars did not have the know-how and in which, with the acquisition of Domínio, the expertise in this market is acquired, which shows that we will enhance and add our talents" he evaluates.

Acquisition

Domínio Assessores is considered the second largest outsourcing company of Rio de Janeiro, with more than R$ 25 million in annual revenue and 330 employees. Santos points out that the goal with the acquisition is to seek leadership in the sector and achieve the status of first outsourcing firm in the country; the company is currently in fourth position. "This will be within the established plan, as we have plans for new acquisitions and this movement in Rio will enhance the growth in a way never seen before", he says. Mazars has as clients in the segment companies such as Burger King, SAP, Nike and American Express and Domínio count on companies like C & C Technologies, DofSubsea, American Airlines, British Airways, Multiterminais, Lundbeck Brasil and VodaNet, among others. The acquisition is part of the expansion plan in the country, which foresees growth of more 150 % in three years, reaching revenues of R$ 150 million. The actions also foresee the expansion of offices in São Paulo, Campinas and Curitiba, with units in the South and Northeast. According to the executive, the expansion is one of the main focus of the company worldwide, as the strategic plan is achieved both through organic growth and through acquisitions. "We will represent a different option compared to traditional audits and consulting, which will take place over these three years", he says.

Currently, Mazars’ business mix is divided into 50 % of revenue in outsourcing (accounting outsourcing, tax, financial and HR), 30% in audit and 20 % between consulting, advisory on transactions and tax consulting. The multinational company is present in 71 countries and has been one of the fastest growing company in its sector and has recognition in Auditing, Financial Advisory Services (advising on transactions), business consulting, tax consulting and outsourcing of processes and financial services. Mazars in Brazil has over 500 employees distributed in four offices: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Campinas and Curitiba.
